Strong show of support for Youth Cancer Awareness Month 2026

Canteen and Youth Cancer Services have extended their sincere thanks to the health and research community following an extraordinary show of support for Youth Cancer Awareness Month (YCAM) 2026.

Throughout April, more than 30 organisations from across Australia came together to amplify a critical message: youth cancer is rising and cannot be ignored. This collective effort saw leading voices across healthcare, research and patient advocacy share and promote the campaign, significantly strengthening its reach and impact.

Organisations that supported YCAM 2026 included:

This united front carried real weight. Youth Cancer Awareness Month received media coverage across television, radio, print and online platforms, helping bring national attention to the growing and often under-recognised issue of cancer among young Australians.

When the health and research community speaks with one voice, it sends a powerful signal to funders, policymakers and government. A coordinated message, backed by a diverse and respected group of organisations, is far harder to ignore than any single organisation acting alone.

The breadth and strength of this year’s campaign plays an important role in advancing advocacy efforts for increased funding, resources and tailored support services for young people impacted by cancer. Every organisation that participated contributed directly to this momentum.

Canteen acknowledges and thanks all supporters for their commitment - not only during April, but in their ongoing work to improve outcomes for young Australians facing cancer.

Together, this collective voice is helping drive meaningful change.
